TOPCOAT ULTRA
This ceramic coating is mainly used to withstand severe chemical and corrosive environments.
TOPCOAT ULTRA is designed for environments where chemical exposure is severe and reliability is crucial. Compared to standard TOPCOAT, this ceramic coating provides significantly improved chemical and wear resistance, while maintaining similar tribological ceramic behaviour. Its colour is a distinct dark grey/green.
The coating consists of a plasma-sprayed nickel-chrome adhesive layer with a minimum thickness of 100μm and a chromium oxide ceramic top layer of at least 200μm, making the coating well suited for applications where both chemical attack and mechanical stress are concerns.
Further improve performance
For extremely severe environments or continuous exposure to aggressive chemical media, we recommend upgrading to the “+” version, which uses the TOPCOAT 177 intermediate layer for enhanced corrosion resistance.
Recommended roughness: Ra 0,2 – 0,4μm
TOPCOAT ULTRA can be finished to extremely smooth roughness values (Ra < 0,15μm), though we recommend Ra 0,2 – 0.4μm combined with a Stepseal construction for optimal sealing performance, low friction and maximum service life.
Typical applications for TOPCOAT ULTRA
- Hydraulic rods and plungers
- Components for the automotive and chemical industry (with testing when required)
- Electrical insulation
- Dielectric applications
- Pump seal wear rings
- Casing rings
- Downhole plungers in the petrochemical sector
TOPCOAT ULTRA
