Due to our ongoing growth, we are looking for a:

Technical Operator

What will you do?

As a Technical Operator, you will work closely with colleagues from different departments to ensure smooth production processes and contribute to the safety and quality of our work. You will start with a general training programme where you will become familiar with all our production and measurement techniques. You will then receive specific on-the-job training and be guided by experienced colleagues to become a specialist in flame spraying.

Main Responsibility: Flame Spraying

At Griekspoor Thermal Coatings, the main responsibility of the metalworker is flame spraying. This is a specialised technique where a metal coating is applied to a surface using a flame spray gun. This coating protects metals from wear, corrosion, and other types of damage. Flame spraying is essential to extending the lifespan of products and improving their performance in demanding environments.

In this role, you will:  ‍

• Setup and operate the flame spray equipment according to specifications  
• Prepare surfaces for flame spraying, such as cleaning and masking  
• Check the thickness and quality of the coatings applied  
• Perform regular maintenance on the spray equipment to ensure optimal performance  
• Work closely with other departments to ensure products meet the required quality standards

Additionally, your tasks will include:  

• Independently setting up our machines
• Measuringproducts according to process specifications
• Readingtechnical drawings
• Preparing work stations and ensuring clean liness and order
• Identify ingand suggesting process improvements

Requirements

What do you bring to the table?  

• Minimum of LBO/MBO level, preferably in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• Affinity with technology
• Experience or interest in computers
• Ability to work independently
• Optimistic attitude
• Enjoying challenges in an innovative high-tech environment
• Attention to detail and quality
• Sense of responsibility
