TOPCOAT107+ is an advanced two-layer coating system developed in-house by Griekspoor in collaboration with leading Dutch corrosion specialists. It consists of aTOPCOAT 177 UHCR nickel-based superalloy intermediate layer combined with a proprietary superalloy–carbide top coating. Together, they form an exceptionally robust coating designed for the harshest environments — above water and underwater.

This system is entirely free of hexavalent chromium (Cr⁶⁺), eliminating the environmental and health risks associated with traditional chrome coatings. The combination of a tough, flexible superalloy and hard carbides provides outstanding resistance to corrosion, fretting, abrasion and cavitation. Recommended minimum thickness is 125 μm, with a typical system thickness of 250 μm and a maximum of approximately 600 μm.

A major advantage of TOPCOAT 107+ is its repairability: damaged areas can be restored by spot welding, enabling fast repairs and minimal downtime in case of impactor accidents.

TOPCOAT107+ is ideal for hydraulic piston rods operating in extremely severe chemical or marine environments. Even long, thin rods with significant flex can be coated reliably with minimal risk of cracking during operation. Additional applications include mandrels, high-precision rollers in the film and paper industry, and the coating or repair of bearing and sliding surfaces.

Further improve corrosion resistance

TOPCOAT107+ is the coating of choice when maximum corrosion resistance, toughness and long-term durability are required, with the added benefit of Cr⁶⁺-free materials and low-maintenance repair options. Increasing the intermediate thickness to approximately 200μm can further enhance corrosion resistance.
